Huw Owens
Owner & Optician
Hi, this is me! I recently took over the practice from Clare, who many of you have known for a number of years.
My main role is to test your eyes, discuss and reassure you regarding any concerns you may have….and hopefully have time a for a chat and coffee! When I’m not at A1, I will almost certainly be at home with my girlfriend Serina, and my children; Millie, Sam, and Harriet. Millie is 3, and Sam and Harriet are twins, born November 2018 – if I look tired, you know why!! My main interest is sports, in particular Football and Golf….if we start chatting about either, you may be here a long time!!
Paul Rowlands
Optician
Familiar face to a lot of our patients, Paul has worked with A1 for over 20 years, and is a firm favorite with many of you longstanding patients.
If you book in to see Paul, I won’t be offended, honest 😉 You will be in very capable hands.
Clare Hodkinson
Dispensing Optician
None other than the previous owner! I am delighted that Clare has agreed to stay at A1 as our dispensing optician. Many of you will be very familiar with Clare, as she successfully ran the practice from 2001 to 2018
Rachel Jones
Dispensing Assistant
Our dispensing assistant Rachel has been an invaluable member of the A1 team for 3 years. Currently studying to become a dispensing optician, she has a keen eye for choosing the perfect frame for you!
Jo Davies
Optical Assistant
Jo joined the practice in 2020, and has over 10 years of optical experience. Jo probably has the busiest social life of all of us! and is getting married later this year. Jo also became a grandmother to Rory, whom she looks after one day per week.
